Frederick Sommer
Frederick Sommer was born in Italy on Sept. 7th, 1905, but grew up in Brazil. He came to the United States to study landscape architecture from Cornell University in 1927. He returned to Brazil after that and had tuberculosis, so he had to go to Switzerland. There, he became interested in photography and purchased his very first camera. He moved to Arizona in 1935. Photography was his secondary after painting and composing. That is, until he met Edward Weston, Alfred Stieglitz, and Georgia O'Keeffe.

American Photography
I am going to talk about American Photography. There were many interesting things that I have learn from watching the this video. Learning about how photography started and how it changed over time really amazes me. I was surprised at how much photos meant to people. It was like photography was a language that everyone can understand. Pictures were often used to attract attention in papers and magazines. If it wasn't a picture, then its like it isn't news. They influenced people and what they believed in. People started to depend on photos more. They were collected and treasured. At first, only the rich people could afford cameras, but then the box camera came out for a dollar and a lot of people started taking pictures.
